Secrets of Making

Secrets de fabrication

  • The script is an adaptation from a short-story of  "A dill pickle" by Katherine Manfield, a new-zealander writer (1888-1923). Katherine Manfield (wiki) lived in England and in France. For K.M.'s fans, see below

  • The film was shot with 4 different cameras (the 2 first were planned, the 2 others were not ; an accident occured) :

    • Super 8 film

    • Kine Raw (chinese camera)

    • Red Epic

    • Canon 5D Mark II

The consequences were a tricky work in color grading

  • A crowdfunding campaign helped the production of the film : people from New Zealand (thanks to the Katherine Mansfield Society), USA, UK, Colombia and France participated.

  • Claire Tatin has been many times to Bandol where K. Mansfield spent  months trying to cure her deadly disease. Pictures from the house in Bandol :
